It is no secret that I’m a gamer girl, but did you know I volunteer a chunk of my spare time as a staff member for AVCon?
What is AVCon, I hear you ask? This is Adelaide’s Anime and Video Games Convention, a not-for-profit event that enriches the community by giving young and old an opportunity to immerse themselves in nerd culture, try new games, meet fellow enthusiasts, and compete in competitions etc. If you live in Australia (especially South Australia), I recommend checking it out. The convention is running from the 9th – 11th July this year.
A lot of hard work goes into pulling off an event like this, but it can be fun too. Because of my role on the video games team, I have been spending much of my spare time gaming lately. It makes for a refreshing change from my writing life, providing stress relief and inspiring my creative spark.
